A major economic force in the Santa Clarita Valley is the entertainment industry. In 2003 an estimated $22 million was pumped in to Santa Clarita from this sector. The City of Santa Clarita had 509 film days in 2003. (If 3 films are shooting on the same day, it's considered 3 film days). Of this, 42% were from television, 25% from feature films, and 12% from commercials. The most frequently used locations inside the City were Mann BioMedical Park with 99 film days and College of the Canyons with 21 film days. Outside the City, in the unincorporated portion of the Santa Clarita Valley we had an additional 600 film days. 38% of those were from television, 35% from feature films and 6% from commercials.
