Mission Statement
To aggressively represent and promote Hispanic business in the Santa Clarita Valley through leadership, advocacy, and member services.
Vision Statement
We are committed toward empowering business professionals within our community by serving as a resource for growth through education, networking and mentoring.
About the Hispanic Business Committee
The Hispanic Business Committee was formed in January 2004 as part of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber was searching for a better way to reach and serve the Hispanic business community. From this aspect, it became evident that it was appropriate to form a committee to represent the needs of this growing and vital segment of the Santa Clarita Valley.
Endowed by the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Committee was created by professionals to address the need for a forum to educate, network, mentor, and be the "voice" for Hispanic businesses within the Santa Clarita Valley. Over the past several years, membership has steadily grown as the Committee evolves. Local Hispanic business professionals from varied expertise adds value to our committee with their insights and participation.
One of our goals is to work together as a group in promoting the diversity and richness of our Hispanic culture. The committee further hopes to provide a venue for the future leaders of the Santa Clarita Valley and continue to offer educational scholarships for our local youth.
Via our Excelencia Awards, social mixers, and educational workshops, we aspire to accomplish our mission and goals. Our success derives from the support of the Chamber of Commerce, the collaboration of the City of Santa Clarita, and the vitality of the community and the talent of our committee members. The advancement in our social, economic, and political power offers a great opportunity for all Hispanic professionals within the Santa Clarita Valley to "grow together in strength."
Scholarship Program
Each year the HBC awards a monetary scholarship to several Hispanic students from local High Schools in honor of their scholastic excellence, community service, academic plans and career goals. Click here for more information on the Scholarship Program.
